General Manager

This role oversees catering and front‑of‑house services, ensuring company standards are maintained and client expectations are met within the agreed objectives for the location.

• Oversee catering and front‑of‑house services ensuring company standards and client expectations are met within agreed objectives for the location.
• Manage on‑site WSH team and act as day‑to‑day relationship point of contact for local clients for catering and front‑of‑house services.
• Partner with Baxter Storey & Portico vendors to create and nurture a culture of excellence that delivers on service commitments for clients.
• Ensure location meets financial targets agreed with client, in line with the Account Director and company budget.
• Provide day‑to‑day direction and coaching to Welcome and Catering services teams to deliver a consistent client‑focused service.
• Lead by example by providing operational support to the team, maintaining service levels.
• Ensure all food offerings are presented and served in line with Baxter Storey standards, demonstrating innovation, passion and flair.
• Periodically review Welcome and Catering procedures to align with business needs and innovate service standards.

• Experience in a General Manager role, ideally in contract catering, front‑of‑house or hospitality.
• Good understanding of report writing and financial management.
• Excellent supervisory and communication skills.
• Strong delegation and influencing abilities.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Passion for food and customer service.
• Ability to thrive on getting the best out of people and maximizing commercial opportunities.
• Ability to train, manage, and support a team.

• Salary up to £40,000.
