General Manager and Area Director of Sales Position Summary

As a Director of Sales with Huntington Hotel Group, an award‑winning hospitality management company, you’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth while leading and inspiring a high‑performing sales team. In this dynamic role, you’ll dedicate approximately 65% of your time to direct sales efforts and 35% to team leadership and strategy—developing promotions, negotiating contracts, establishing rates, and maximizing revenue opportunities across corporate, group, and leisure markets.

We’re seeking a proven leader with a passion for hospitality sales, a track record of motivating teams, and the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, train, and coach the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Drive direct sales efforts through phone calls, emails, client appointments, site tours, and networking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top accounts, ensuring trust, loyalty, and repeat business.
  • Negotiate and manage corporate and group contracts, including national account protocols and annual RFPs.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations, marketing promotions, and FAM trips to showcase the hotel and generate new business.
  • Monitor account production, evaluate market trends, and leverage reports and tools to capture market share.
  • Establish competitive rates and implement effective strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare weekly sales recaps, manage sales budgets, and actively participate in hotel and corporate meetings.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and industry events to promote the brand and develop business opportunities.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a results‑driven sales team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident in client presentations and negotiations.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Professional, polished appearance in line with hotel dress standards.
  • Flexible, self‑motivated, and committed to achieving goals with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates a passion for hospitality by anticipating needs and creating exceptional experiences.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hotel sales experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in the hospitality industry.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and reach throughout the day.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. as needed.
  • Some travel required to attend client meetings, industry events, and corporate sales functions.
