Audit​/Tax Senior

Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our fast‑growing firm. The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of tax, audit and other assignments as assigned by the Manager. The role focuses on independent problem‑solving, client relationship strengthening and team profitability, with a growing supervisory responsibility.

• Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal oversight by Managers.
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews and increase responsibility for engagement management.
• Recognize potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions.
• Research, gather and analyze business‑specific data, interpret results, compile reports and make recommendations.
• Develop, strengthen and maintain client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness and a service‑oriented approach.
• Enhance industry knowledge by completing relevant training courses.
• Increase team profitability by managing own and staff time efficiently, contributing ideas, and adding value.
• Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus) and 3‑5years of experience in public accounting or comparable experience.
• Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed sections of the CPA exam; CPA license a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to work accurately, efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and follow‑through skills, with the ability to prioritize a fast‑paced, varied workload.
• Receptive to constructive feedback and capable of adjusting accordingly.
• Collaborative teamwork mindset and ability to foster a productive, team‑oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and report‑writing tools.
• Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
• Ability to meet internal firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and domestic travel as required.
• Experience with affordable housing, LIHTC, OZ, RETC, HTC, HUD, NMTC, real‑estate, developers, partnerships, HA, PHAs, CDFI, CDE, property compliance, nonprofit, single audit, Uniform Guidance, A‑133, forecasting, cost segregation, Year‑15 exit, tax‑exempt bond and HOME programs is helpful but not mandatory.
