Investor Accountant

Southfield, MI (Remote)

Do you welcome challenges and finding solutions to unique situations? In the Investor Accountant role, you will be responsible for reconciling GSE Custodial P&I and T&I accounts, preparing reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts, researching and resolving exceptions, ensuring compliance with investor reporting and accounting practices, and facilitating audit requests.

Responsibilities
  • Reconciling GSE Custodial P&I and T&I accounts; preparing reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts, including balancing, research, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Researching, resolving, and clearing GSE exceptions, including all hard and soft reject findings to resolution.
  • Monitoring compliance with investor reporting and accounting, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Facilitating audit requests by gathering, validating, and providing documentation for GSE and other Investor Internal and External audits as needed.
  • Monitoring P&I Custodial accounts to ensure accurate processing of monthly advances, recoupments, and Investor remittance; reporting payoffs, loan modifications, and corrections to GSEs accurately and timely.
Qualifications
  • At least three (3) years of experience in investor accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills to work effectively in a fast‑paced, highly regulated, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).
