Position Summary:

In this role, you will be accountable for optimizing the company's tax position in relation to mergers and acquisitions. You will report directly to our Senior Tax Manager and you will work out of our Skokie or Southfield location on a hybrid work schedule.

This position will oversee all aspects of the company's tax accounting, tax compliance, domestic tax research and audit defense. The position will lead the quarterly and year-end tax accounting process and oversee the preparation of the federal and state income tax returns. Additionally, the position will lead the audit defense and will have regular interaction with the federal and state tax exam authorities.

Finally, the position will interface regularly with the finance, legal, and corporate departments as well as business unit management.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual global income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Prepare and maintain tax accounting work papers and supporting documentation to satisfy internal control, SOX, and PCAOB audit requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze current and deferred tax calculations, tax account reconciliations, and related supporting documentation.
  • Support the calculation and reporting of the effective tax rate (ETR), including identification and analysis of key rate drivers.
  • Assist with FIN 48 / ASC 740-10 uncertain tax position (UTP) analyses and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with global finance and accounting teams to gather information necessary for tax provision calculations and tax reporting requirements.
  • Support tax forecasting and cash tax planning activities, including quarterly and annual projections.
  • Review and analyze foreign subsidiary tax data for inclusion in the global tax provision.
  • Partner with external advisors and auditors to support tax accounting reviews, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and improve tax provision work papers, documentation, and internal control processes.
  • Research and document technical tax accounting issues and assist in implementing tax law changes impacting the provision.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3-6 years tax experience in public accounting or in a highly complex multinational environment required.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles
  • Experience preparing or reviewing U.S. GAAP income tax provisions for multinational organizations
  • Experience working with global tax provision processes, including foreign entities and cross-border tax considerations
  • Exposure to uncertain tax positions (FIN 48), deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and effective tax rate analyses
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with tax provision software (One Source Tax Provision, Corp Tax, or similar preferred)
  • Experience with One Stream, SAP, or other enterprise financial reporting systems

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification.
  • Masters of Taxation degree preferred but not required
Compensation/Benefits:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $90,000 - $110,000. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position
