Up to 19 hours per week. The Library is open on evenings and weekends. Availability to work evenings and/or weekends may be required.
RepresentativeJob Duties
This position is responsible for assisting library patrons in their use of computing and office devices, and related software products. Patrons and guests are helped to reserve and sign into the library’s computer and automation system. The Assistant also maintains, sets up, and resolves issues with the library’s computers. Other support duties include basic scheduled maintenance and care of equipment.
Job Requirements – As Determined By the City Of Southfield- High School Graduate or GED required
- Strong commitment to positive and polite public service
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Windows
- Experience troubleshooting PC hardware
- Able to work independently after training
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Computer Lab and/or Library experience
- Software troubleshooting experience
- Applicants must be able to lift 25 lbs., bend, push a cart, and stand for periods of time
