Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Package Back Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented File Prep Specialist (also known as a Package Back Specialist
) to join our mortgage processing team. This is a foundational role within our processing department where you will be responsible for the "Package Back" process—collecting, organizing, and verifying all borrower documents before they are submitted for final review.
No prior mortgage experience is necessary; we provide full training for candidates with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail.

What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities)
  • Package Back & File Prepping: Assemble and organize null application "packages," ensuring every required document (tax returns, W-2s, pay stubs, bank statements) is present and correctly labeled.
  • Document Verification: Perform a first-level review of borrower information to spot missing signatures or expired documents before they reach the underwriter.
  • Third-Party Coordination: Order and track essential third-party services like property appraisals, title searches, and flood certifications.
  • Data Integrity: Enter and update borrower data in our null system (such as Encompass) to ensure our digital files match the physical documentation.
  • Internal Support: Act as the "go-between" for our null Officers and Underwriters, clearing initial document conditions to keep the null moving forward.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree is a plus).
  • Unmatched Attention to Detail: You take pride in finding the smallest errors and ensuring files are perfectly organized.
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and learning specialized mortgage software.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to professionally request missing information from internal team members or external partners.
  • Pace: Ability to handle multiple null files at once in a deadline-driven environment.
Why Join Us?
  • Comprehensive Paid Training: We will teach you the "Package Back" process and the fundamentals of the mortgage industry.
  • Entry-Level Entryway: This is the best way to learn how a null is built, leading to future roles as a null Processor, Underwriter, or Specialist.
  • Supportive Team Culture: Work in a collaborative environment where your organization directly helps families get into their new homes.
