Manager, Procurement

Overview

Sun's Manager, Procurement is responsible for leading enterprise level sourcing strategy, supplier governance, and cross functional alignment to deliver sustainable value across the organization. This role oversees major spend categories, leads strategic negotiations, manages strategic and high-risk supplier relationships, and drives transformation initiatives within the procurement function. The Manager, Procurement partners closely with business leaders to forecast needs, optimize total cost of ownership, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and best practices.

• Lead, coach, mentor category managers, sourcing specialists, and procurement analysts to build organizational capability and drive performance. (Essential)
• Develop multi-year sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and market conditions. (Essential)
• Oversee major spend categories, including strategy development, demand management, and execution. (Essential)
• Conduct business reviews, monitor key performance indicators, and hold suppliers accountable for quality, service, and continuous improvement. (Essential)
• Establish negotiation strategies, pricing models, and financial frameworks to support decision-making. (Essential)
• Lead performance management programs for strategic and high-risk suppliers. (Essential)
• Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
• Leverage market intelligence to identify risks, emerging trends, and opportunities for innovation.
• Lead enterprise cost optimization initiatives and support annual budgeting and/or forecasting efforts.
• Partner with Legal to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and corporate requirements.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through robust contingency planning and diversification strategies.
• Lead complex negotiations impacting multi-year contracts and high-value agreements.
• Oversee contract lifecycle management and ensure commercial terms provide long term value.
• Coach teams on negotiation best practices and commercial acumen.
• Drive enhancements to procurement policies, processes, and systems.
• Champion and model the use of technology, enterprise resource planning, eProcurement tools, project management, analytics, and automation to strengthen efficiency and transparency.
• Support governance of procurement processes and ensure adherence across the organization.
• Track and report savings, compliance, and operational key performance indicators to senior leadership.
• Serve as a strategic partner to leaders and functional heads to understand and forecast business needs.
• Lead cross functional teams on sourcing initiatives, requests for proposal, capital projects, and business transformation efforts.
• Effectively communicate strategy, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and influence.
• Support performance development, succession planning, and skills development across the team.
• Promote a high performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
• Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. (Required)
• 10+ years in experience in purchasing and sourcing management. (Required)
• A collaborative team member who personifies hospitality and has a passion for people
• Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Strong financial and analytical acumen, including total cost of ownership modeling and scenario analysis
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives
• Expertise in supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, and performance measurement
• Strong leadership, communication, and change management capabilities
• Advanced computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technology, specifically procurement systems, analytics tools and project management software.
• Analytical mindset able to solve problems effectively and creatively with superb leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced work environment
• Preferred Certifications/Licensures:
  Professional certifications (CPSM, CPIM, CSCP)
