Job Description
The Project Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and preparing clear, competitive proposals. The Estimator works closely with sales, project managers, and suppliers to ensure estimates are complete, timely, and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed material, equipment, and labor estimates
- Review project drawings and documents to determine scope
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Develop pricing proposals, scope summaries, and supporting documents
- Maintain updated cost data and vendor relationships
- Support project managers with budget updates and clarifications
- Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and labor needs.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify scope requirements.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare pricing summaries using estimating tools and software.
- Request, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Recommend cost‑effective alternatives or value‑engineering options as needed.
- Support sales teams with timely and accurate pricing for proposals and bid submissions.
- Work with project managers to ensure estimates align with field conditions and project execution plans.

- 3–5+ years of estimating experience in construction, equipment, or related project‑based industries.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel required).
- Excellent numerical accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
2–5+ years of estimating or project‑based experience - Detail‑oriented, thorough, analytical, and solution‑oriented
- Strong multitasker with excellent follow‑through
