Join Henry Ford Providence Southfield as a Locum - Physician - Neonatology and make a vital impact in neonatal care at a premier Level 3 NICU. This is an excellent opportunity to provide in-house coverage for a dedicated team, ensuring the highest standards of care for vulnerable newborns in Southfield, MI.

As a Neonatologist, you will be integral to managing a busy NICU, attending C-sections, and transferring neonates when necessary.

This role offers flexible scheduling with 4-6 shifts per month from 7 pm to 7 am, totaling an engaging and fulfilling assignment from March 24, 2026, through December 31, 2026. You will work alongside a competent team of full-time, part-time, and contingent Neonatologists, supporting your professional growth.

Required Skills:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
  • Fellowship training in Neonatology
  • Current state medical license in Michigan
  • BLS, NRP certifications
  • Proven ability to manage Level 3 NICU patients
  • Experience attending C-sections and transferring neonates
  • Familiarity with Cerner, Ecare, or Power Chart EMR systems
  • Ability to work independently during shifts
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience in a Level 3 NICU setting
  • Previous locum tenens experience
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of neonatal stabilization and resuscitation protocols
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Fellowship-trained Neonatologist
  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 setting
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
Other Requirements:
  • In-hand Michigan medical license (no licensing delay)
  • Ability to attend C-sections
  • Documentation proficiency with Cerner/Ecare/Power Chart
  • Mileage reimbursement only; no background check or application fee reimbursement
  • Credentialing estimated at 90-120 days
