Crescent Academy is currently hiring for a Middle School ELA Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year.
Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-11. Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 26/27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching literature, writing, and language skills to high school students. This individual will create a stimulating classroom environment, encourage student engagement and participation, and foster a love for reading and writing.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
- Teach a diverse curriculum that includes literature, composition, grammar, and language usage while considering varied learning styles and needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Supervision of multiple students at once
- Establishing routines and procedures
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment
- Create and implement instructional plans
- Participate in continuous professional development
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs
- Stand and walk frequently
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
- Withstand a moderate noise level
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary
- Assist/lift students, as necessary
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education…
