Job DutiesThe representative job duties include:
- Managing electronic resources, including online databases, e-books, streaming media, and internet resources.
- Coordinating the evaluation, acquisition, marketing, and maintenance of electronic resources.
- Training staff and patrons on the usage of electronic resources.
- Monitoring and analyzing usage statistics for all electronic resources.
- Functioning as a liaison between the Library's Adult Services and Technology Divisions.
- Serving as a library representative on local library consortia committees.
- Serving as a division representative for library technology committees.
- Being responsible for electronic and print collection development.
- Developing and monitoring the budget for areas of responsibility.
- Assisting in formulating policy and procedures.
- Providing Reference and Reader's Advisory services at public service desks.
- Planning and organizing programs and presentations for library patrons.
- Creating digital signage for the division to promote programs.
- Acting as Librarian-in-Charge as assigned.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
The job requirements include:
- A Master's degree in Library Science from an A.L.A. accredited university.
- One-year full-time professional library experience.
- A proactive, public service attitude, along with the ability to interact and work effectively with patrons and staff.
- Experience with technology, especially tablets, e-readers, smartphones, and other devices used with the library's digital services. Possess knowledge of online information resources, downloadable media, computers, and software programs.
- Effective written communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience with electronic resources preferred.
- Experience in supervision and training of staff desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of library materials and resources, and an awareness of new developments and trends in public libraries.

Each step of the process must be passed before the applicant will be moved to the next step.
