Head Start | GSRP CDA Teacher
Responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families while maintaining documentation of services provided.
The Head Start/GSRP Teacher- CDA reports to the designated Coach and Early Head Start/Head Start/GSRP Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs that include all aspects of the High/Scope daily routine.
- Maintain program documentation on children and families.
- Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits.
- Document and communicate children's progress using the Child Observation Record (COR).
- Administer, score, and communicate the developmental assessment results within 45 days of each child entering the program.
- Observe and document children's activities and interactions through anecdotal notes.
- Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment.
- Prepare, serve, clean up, and document meals as necessary.
- Document any contributions to the classroom (food, money, etc.).
- Attend meetings and program functions as assigned.
- Follow all Board of Education and Policy Council policies, local, state, and federal guidelines, laws, and regulations.
- Provides support to other positions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Start/GSRP Director or designee.
- Complete High/Scope training within the first school year of employment.

Required Education and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood preferred (or commitment to obtain CDA credential within one year of hire).
- Experience working with young children

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to apply current research and theoretical knowledge in a specific field.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
- Knowledge, skill, and ability in using MS Office Suite and e-mail.
