Within the Project Team, the Layout Technical Leader ensures the achievement of the objectives in terms of scheduling meetings, cost optimization and resources management, implementing the best layout design technical solutions (in terms of homogeneity, standardization, and compliance with requirements). The Layout Technical Leader applies industry knowledge and experience to manage projects from the quoting phase to the handover. The Layout Technical Leader uses planning, resource, and task management skills to direct layout engineering resources for the successful implementation of the assigned project.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of Layout Designers to develop detailed layout designs and specifications, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment, in line with the customer specifications and project requirements.
- Plan project layout engineering technical activities and staffing (time, cost).
- Coordinate internal/external layout engineering technical activities and people involved in the project.
- Coordinate with and consult other colleagues to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and the application of company standards (products, processes, regulations, etc.) and identify opportunities for standardization.
- Guarantee the achievement of the objectives in terms of time, quality, and costs. Track and submit project reports.
- Effectively interact with the Process, Design and Simulation teams to create and maintain accurate plant layout design.
- Coordinate resources for layout engineering with the Project Engineer and Department Manager.
- Identify possible areas of improvement in internal processes and lead/participate in improvement activities.
- Interface with customer to finalize design requirements, reviews, and approvals throughout design phase.
- Manage all the activities above in compliance with the company processes and quality assurance procedures.
- Guarantee the technical support during the phases of assembly and installation.
- Attend Design Reviews with colleagues and customers.
- General AutoCAD experience
- Factory
CAD experience - Knowledge of machines and tools / controls. Understanding of mechanical system / controls design.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to write technical documents and reports for use as reference by engineering and technical writers as well as documentation for the project.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to train and mentor other Technical Leaders and Layout Designers/Engineers
- Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Performing day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Understand and comply with corporate and customer processes and procedures.

- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Previous experiences: extensive previous work‑related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for this position.
- Languages:
a 2nd language is a plus
