Job Description

Be our next Site Civil Project Engineer
. In this role, you will focus on Site Civil/Land Development projects supporting the Buildings, Telecommunications, and Mission Critical practices nationally. Project types and clients will vary, with opportunities to be involved in projects across the United States.

Your work environment at EXP

In this position you will work closely with client teams and multiple stakeholders, managing engineering tasks for a diverse portfolio of project types.

What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Prepare engineering analysis, design, and calculations for all aspects of site civil work including site access, grading, drainage, utility networks, and erosion control independently or with plan production support.
  • Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and other project design leaders across multiple time zones.
  • Generate detailed reports to demonstrate compliance with local design guidelines.
  • Employ a variety of modeling software for drainage and water/sewer system design.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of construction document preparation and independently make design decisions.
  • Maintain involvement with projects during construction as needed to respond to RFIs or make design revisions to accommodate unforeseen issues identified during construction.
  • Prepare scope and fee estimates on portions of projects or change orders or assist with project procurement on occasion.
What Your Experience Looks Like
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Civil Engineering role (site civil/land development experience preferred).
  • PE certification required (or ability to obtain within 12 months of start date).
  • Proficiency in CAD via AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Proficiency in stormwater modeling software such as HEC‑HMS, ICPR, SWMM, or similar.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi‑discipline, remote project teams.
  • Ability to plan one’s own time and manage the time of others, as needed.
  • Ability to problem‑solve, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and approach new projects and agencies with sound engineering judgment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Forward‑thinking to identify possible technical or schedule constraints at the onset of projects.
  • Ability to travel for 1‑2 day site inspection/meeting trips (one trip per month or less on average).
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
