Southfield MI. Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 Per hour.
This role focuses on leading the complete lifecycle of emergency call and telematics safety systems for vehicles. You will be the primary owner responsible for defining, developing, and validating these critical features, ensuring they meet stringent regulatory standards and integrate seamlessly within the vehicle's complex architecture. The position also involves providing ongoing support and ensuring compatibility for existing restraint control module systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of Emergency Call (eCall) features, including data transmission and automatic crash notification.
- Define system architecture and allocate functionality across telematics ECUs, restraint modules, and communication hardware.
- Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans to ensure eCall system performance and regulatory adherence.
- Provide sustaining engineering support for legacy restraint control modules and their integration with new systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure program milestones are met.
- Proven experience in automotive safety or telematics systems.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle network communication protocols.
- Familiarity with global emergency call system regulations.

Experience in the automotive industry, specifically with safety systems and telematics, is highly preferred.
