Job DescriptionAs a member of the Lear Production System (LPS) team in the IT Shop Floor organization, you will implement and support the LPS suite of applications at several manufacturing plants in North America. You will also focus on innovation and improvements to the LPS system and deployment processes, preparing for the next generation of the system to meet evolving business needs.
Responsibilities- Implement and support the Lear Production System (LPS) – Lear’s internally developed shop floor manufacturing software.
- Coordinate with plant and corporate engineering teams to understand the build process and configure and integrate LPS.
- Develop and manage project plans for assigned implementation projects.
- Support pre‑production testing and debugging of production lines.
- Identify necessary system enhancements and submit change requests to the LPS development team.
- Train plant IT and engineering teams in the operation and configuration of the LPS applications.
- Provide troubleshooting support to plants across the region as a system expert.
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of Plant and Corporate personnel.
- Build productive relationships with Lear colleagues, providing knowledge, support, and expertise.
- Work with other technology experts to develop, implement, and optimize the operating environment for business results.
- Support Automation initiatives from an MES perspective.
- Travel up to 50% as needed to support plant launches.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Motivated, self‑starter who can actively listen, learn, and execute without much direction, while also collaborating effectively as a team member.
- Positive attitude with professionalism under pressure.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and logical troubleshooting mindset.
- Strong understanding of Windows PC/Server environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying and conveying technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues and management.
- Experience in a manufacturing IT environment.
- Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
- Understanding of TCP/IP communication protocols.
- Knowledge of PLC and OPC functionality and capabilities.
- Experience with SQL Server, SQL queries, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Experience configuring Windows server environments and thin client hardware.
- Knowledge of physical and logical networking concepts.
- Experience with virtual server environments.
