Role Summary
The Simulation Technical Leader supports the Project Engineer in all 3D process simulation activities, coordinates 2D requirements and technical documentation, and leads mechanical design efforts. The role covers robotic cells, welding, assembly, conveyance, and transfer systems, managing projects from quotation through commissioning while guiding engineering teams and resources.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret customer and plant specifications; apply Comau mechanical design standards.
- Plan, execute, and oversee robotic cell and equipment design and development.
- Estimate labor and content for proposals and engineering changes.
- Lead, delegate, and manage mechanical design teams and project resources.
- Develop manpower plans, timelines, and cost projections; report status to Project Engineer.
- Coordinate design reviews, approvals, and cross‑functional communication.
- Support risk assessments (PFMEA, MFMEA, Safety & CE) and installation activities.
- Track and specify robotic equipment; develop robotic tasks.
- Coach and mentor engineers; establish standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical floor support and moderate programming input.
- Travel as required (local, domestic, or international).
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business - Overall
Experience:
Extensive previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for this position. Active participation on 5 or more projects. - Job Training:
Employees in this occupation usually need training involving both on‑the‑job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge (machines, tools, print reading).
- Proficiency with CAD tools, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and regulations.
- Project planning, systems evaluation, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Effective customer interaction, communication, training, and mentoring abilities.
- Strong leadership, organization, and resource management skills.
- Ability to supervise teams, ensure standards compliance, and support commissioning.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to balance creativity and standardization.
