About the RoleAs a Technical Specialist – Functional Safety Engineer
, you will lead and support the development of functional safety concepts and requirements for advanced automotive systems. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and SOTIF standards across hardware and software development.
This is a highly technical role requiring hands‑on experience in safety analysis, safety architecture, and safety validation within complex automotive systems.
What You’ll Do- Lead Functional Safety activities per ISO 26262 and SOTIF
- Review HARA, FSR, TSR, and safety validation plans
- Define and assess safety architecture and requirements
- Drive safety processes, tools, readiness, and metrics
- Collaborate with software, hardware, validation teams, and suppliers
- Support safety assessments, DIAs, validation, and technical decisions
- Work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced automotive environment
- 8+ years in Functional Safety within automotive systems
- Strong expertise in ISO 26262 and SOTIF
- Experience with HARA, FSR, TSR, and safety work products
- Background in OEM or Tier 1 environments
- Experience with supplier safety reviews and safety responsibility sharing
- Hands‑on experience with Medini, APIS IQ, and Jama
- Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Experience with Agile, Automotive SPICE, and CMMI
- Background in embedded software/hardware development and ADAS/autonomous driving safety systems
