About the Opportunity

For over 40 years the Komline‑Filtra team has specialized in custom engineered industrial and separation filtration solutions serving industries such as metalworking, water/wastewater treatment, chemicals, mining, and steel. With over 60 patents and 21,000 systems installed across 37 countries, Komline‑Filtra Systems offers a wide range of products such as water purification, coolant/oil filtration, air/mist collectors, and pressure filters.

The Mechanical Engineer will focus on ensuring design documentation for equipment, products, and services is generated and distributed to ensure successful completion. The role participates in all aspects of project‑related activities: drawing and BOM management, shop drawings, timeline generation, cost management, in‑shop acceptance testing, and field commissioning. The candidate will interface with a cross‑functional team of engineers to meet customer expectations and possess sufficient knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication practices to support and execute product development and construction projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design and detail parts and assemblies using 3D (Solid Works, etc.) and 2D (AutoCAD, etc.) software.
  • Interface with designers and engineers in a team environment.
  • Generate documentation to facilitate manufacture of products: drawings, bills of material, material specifications, and design files.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers to satisfy design requirements.
  • Generate and maintain project engineering planning documents (Gantt charts, drawing records, etc.) to communicate project status.
  • Complete, document, and provide engineering designs, calculations, processes, and procedures for assigned projects.
  • Review work of others as necessary to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Plan daily activities within company policy guidelines to maximize personal output.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area to ensure safety of self and co‑workers; report and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Promote and encourage a culture of knowledge generation and distribution for products, services, and technology.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward others at all times.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline and 3‑5 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Solid Works, 2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time‑management skills, multitasking, and flexibility to maintain project schedules.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply new tools to maintain cutting‑edge technology.
  • Ability to maintain project files for easy access to updates and changes.
  • Advanced levels require demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories:
    • Sheet‑metal fabrication: design knowledge and component selection, material specifications, manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities.
    • Piping systems: pumps, valves, filters, fittings, ASME and AWS specifications.
    • Refrigeration systems: compressors, valves, evaporators, condensers.
    • Industrial ventilation systems: industrial blowers, valves, ductwork, ASHRAE and NFPA specifications.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
