Lead Sales Engineer

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer. This is a hybrid work opportunity for candidates residing within 50 miles of Eaton’s Southfield, MI campus.

Eaton’s Mobility Group division is currently seeking a Lead Product Sales Engineer. This role is based at our Southfield, MI facility and offers a hybrid working schedule. The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting a key customer accounts and the overall day-to-day business relationship between Power Connections and key customers. You will report to the commercial leader and will be responsible for supporting and promoting Power Connections products and solutions within the assigned territory.

You will work together with entire Power Connections Sales & Engineering teams to drive maximum penetration of Power Connections products across OEM’s & Tiers.

• Learn Power Connections products, capabilities and value add options
• Work as a member of the OEM DRE team to support product and platform launch execution
• Develop and maintain relationships at multiple levels in the customer base to for Eaton to be strategic
• Serve as the initial Power Connections face to customer located onsite at OEM office
• Assist Program / Platform teams in defining requirements, design evaluations, and validation
• Manage Sample Orders, Tracking, and Delivery
• Manage OEM engineering projects, release, and management systems acting as the Eaton lead, coordinating all required project steps with the appropriate Eaton cross functional team member(s)
• Monitor customer project timing and milestones, ensuring Eaton project timing meets the needs of the customer. Identify and elevate gaps to leadership and cross functional team as required.
• Release drawings, part numbers, write work orders, manage 5-Phases, manage and track open issues
• Effectively communicate with team members to promote the business needs of the territory to foster growth

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the automotive industry
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Only candidates currently residing within a 50-mile radius of the work location (Southfield, MI) will be considered. Active-Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
• Experience in a sales engineering, applications engineering or similar role, working with OEMs.
• Experience working with EV/High Voltage/Connectors
• Experience selling terminals, connectors, eyelets, and busbars

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally and to influence without direct authority
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and computer skills (i.e. Power Point, Excel & Word)
• Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
• Ability and willingness to travel as required
