Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Tax Associate to join their Private Client group in Detroit, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate, gift, and income tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
Duties- Advise clients on wealth transfer and charitable planning strategies.
- Prepare estate tax projections and review estate and gift tax returns.
- Collaborate with CPA firms to ensure accurate tax filings and trust accountings.
- Assist in drafting trust agreements and related transfer documents.
- Review existing estate planning documents for tax reporting accuracy.
- Three or more years of experience in tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
- Experience with tax research in estate, gift, and non-profit areas.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- CPA or LLM preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
