Glass Ratner employs approximately 200 team members located across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Role SummaryThe Associate supports client engagements across restructuring and insolvency, forensic accounting and litigation matters, and valuation assignments. Associates perform financial analysis, investigations, modeling, and written deliverables while working closely with senior professionals, attorneys, lenders, and clients. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple work streams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Associates are expected to contribute to high quality work, manage time effectively, communicate clearly, and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and collaboration across engagement teams.
Key Responsibilities- Perform financial analysis related to restructuring, insolvency, litigation support, investigations, and valuation engagements
- Assist in distressed company assessments, cash flow forecasts, liquidity analyses, and scenario modeling
- Support out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy matters, and emergency planning efforts
- Conduct forensic accounting procedures, including data analysis, transaction tracing, and investigative review
- Prepare valuation analyses in accordance with applicable professional standards (e.g., USPAP, GAAP where applicable)
- Develop financial models, schedules, exhibits, and supporting documentation for reports, expert testimony, and client presentations
- Draft written analyses, memoranda, pitch materials, and expert reports with clear and concise conclusions
- Manage assigned tasks within engagement budgets and timelines; track and record billable time accurately and promptly
- Coordinate with senior team members, attorneys, clients, and internal specialists to support engagement objectives
- Participate in client calls, meetings, and internal working sessions
- Contribute to business development efforts, including research, pitch materials, and client-facing presentations
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and integrity in all interactions
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support engagement success
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, valuation, restructuring, consulting, or litigation support preferred
- CPA, CPA candidate, MBA, CFA, or progress toward professional certification is a plus
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex and incomplete data into clear insights
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and personal accountability
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with restructuring, insolvency, forensic accounting, litigation support, or valuation engagements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial modeling
- Familiarity with GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Experience preparing reports, expert support materials, or client deliverables
- Comfort working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities
- Prior exposure to law firm, financial advisory, or consulting environments
