This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Respiratory Therapist to make a real impact by supporting patients' respiratory needs, collaborating with a committed clinical team, and growing within a dynamic, patient-focused environment in Southfield, Michigan.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and perform clinical respiratory services for customers, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and plans of care.
- Deliver, set up, and instruct patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of oxygen systems and respiratory equipment.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of service or treatment to meet clinical goals and requirements.
- Market and promote respiratory therapy services to referral sources and the wider health care community.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and maintenance on oxygen concentrators and other respiratory therapy items according to reference manuals.
- Provide education on infection control procedures and verify compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate equipment management records and ensure all required documentation for prescriptions and Certificates of Medical Necessity is collected.
- Fulfill on-call duties and assist with gathering insurance or customer information as needed.
- Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in the State of Michigan.
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program and/or at least one year of clinical experience, or a combination of related education and experience.
- Proficient in patient assessment, oxygen therapy, and use of respiratory equipment (oxygen concentrators, liquid/cylinder oxygen systems).
- Ability to instruct patients and families on medical equipment and procedures.
- Reliable transportation, good driving record, and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in home medical equipment delivery and setup.
- Strong marketing and relationship-building abilities with referral sources.
- Knowledge of infection control and compliance procedures.
- Experience with insurance documentation and billing practices for medical necessity.
- Previous experience providing in-service training for clinical staff.
