Schedule

4 ten‑hour shifts 1:00–11:00 pm every third weekend; flexible days, afternoons, 8, 10, 12‑hour shifts. Rotation possible; weekend and midnight on‑call.

Preferred Experience

Operating Room experience (manager willing to train)

Must Have

Level II Trauma experience in a hospital setting.

General Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs radiologic procedures as ordered, using independent judgment for techniques, positioning, and safety.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares them for the examination.

Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination; obtains additional patient history as necessary.

Prepares procedure room and replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.

Analyzes anatomical structure, sets up equipment, and performs the radiologic procedure; manually controls equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.

May select and administer intravenous contrast media; monitors patient for reactions and provides immediate care if needed.

Performs all imaging with radiation protection principles; may involve shielding, appropriate equipment settings, and ALARA techniques.

May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures; follows infection control practices.

Follows department standards for patient care, safety, privacy, confidentiality, comfort, and legal/ethical rights.

Completes all necessary work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation.

Assumes responsibility for teaching/educating new hires and students while maintaining duties.

Uses PACS to resolve image exceptions and ensures high‑quality image delivery; confirms image/series counts.

Uses RIS to complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and study completion.

Reviews and confirms protocols with radiologist before performing studies.

Demonstrates team member standards of excellence—AIDET, open communication, timeliness, positive attitude, innovation, diversity respect.

Performs all documentation in the medical record and radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Work in hospital units with fixed or mobile units; may be exposed to radiation, high‑voltage equipment, or contagious patients.
May lift or move equipment or patients up to 10 lb.

Education/Experience Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Must maintain required continued education hours.

Certifications/ Licenses Required

Must be registered with ARRT in radiography.
Health Care Provider certification required (BCLS).
