Job Description Summary
Translate functional specifications into more detailed guidance for development. Examine and evaluate current systems and identify requirements. Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features. Document interfaces between new and legacy systems. Collaborate with developers to produce new systems. Validate changes by testing programs.

Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10–12 days a month.

- Manage and maintain complex systems.
- Perform implementations and upgrades in compliance with security guidelines.
- Ensure availability, security and integrity of assigned systems.
- Monitor systems, setting alerts and reviewing error logs to maintain environment stability.
- Troubleshoot or escalates issues as needed.
- Evaluate and identify ways to automate, streamline, and improve day‑to‑day maintenance and administrative practices.
- Install or coordinate installation of patches and releases on development, test, pre‑production, and production systems.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements regarding application availability.
- Serve as central point of contact and liaison to other IT departments and vendors regarding installations, server maintenance, licensing and upgrade issues.
- Effectively manage communication between end users, vendors, and IT departments to solve production, pre‑production, test and other environment problems quickly.
- Create and maintain accurate system run books and documentation of application configuration, including tracking and documenting changes to environments.
- Assist in capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning on assigned systems.
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including assisting with fault tolerance and recovery plans.
- Participate in project meetings supporting business objectives.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Work non‑standard shifts, nights, weekends, and/or on‑call responsibilities.

- Monitoring tools to ensure required availability of assigned systems.
- Active Directory and DNS.
- Backup and recovery technologies.

- Network and security concepts and technologies.
- Ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
- Ability to choose a course of action or develop appropriate solutions; recommend or take action consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences.
- Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in related areas; remain current with developments and trends.
- Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Make internal and external client needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science required, or a high school diploma.
Work Experience: General experience of 6–10 years.
