Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney – Metro Detroit
Are you a strategic negotiator who understands how to maximize case value before a lawsuit is ever filed? Our respected Metro Detroit personal injury law firm is expanding and seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to lead case development, liability strategy, and high-value settlement negotiations.
This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in early case resolution, understands damages valuation, and knows how to apply pressure without stepping into the courtroom.
What You’ll Do:- Manage a full pre-litigation docket from case intake through demand and settlement
- Conduct in-depth liability analysis and develop early case strategy
- Review police reports, medical records, wage loss documentation, and insurance policies
- Direct pre-litigation paralegals and case managers to ensure complete file development
- Communicate directly with clients to guide expectations and maintain engagement
- Draft and finalize comprehensive demand packages
- Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and defense counsel
- Evaluate case value using damages analysis, comparable verdicts, and policy limits
- Identify cases requiring litigation escalation and coordinate seamless file transfer
- Monitor statute of limitations and ensure pre-suit compliance requirements are met
- Track settlement metrics and continuously refine negotiation strategy
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active Michigan license
- 2+ years personal injury experience (pre-litigation strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of Michigan No‑Fault, third‑party claims, and bodily injury valuation
- Proven negotiation skills with measurable settlement results
- Ability to analyze medical treatment, permanency, and future damages
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage a high‑volume docket
- Strong client communication and empathy

You’ll work alongside a structured support team to ensure files are developed thoroughly before litigation is considered.
