As a Nurse Midwife, you’ll be a vital partner in guiding expectant mothers through one of life’s most profound experiences—childbirth. From prenatal care to postpartum support, you’ll deliver expert medical care, education, and emotional support that ensures the well‑being of both mother and baby.
What You’ll Do Prenatal Care- Provide comprehensive prenatal services, including physical exams, diagnostic testing, and health monitoring for mothers and babies.
- Educate expectant mothers on healthy pregnancy practices, nutrition, and mental wellness.
- Assist mothers through labor and delivery, focusing on safety, comfort, and individualized care.
- Monitor labor progress, address complications, and provide pain management and emotional support.
- Deliver compassionate postpartum care, including physical assessments, breastfeeding guidance, and newborn care education.
- Address recovery concerns, monitor mother and baby’s health, and provide ongoing support.
- Educate families on reproductive health, newborn care, and preventive strategies for women’s health.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, addressing physical, emotional, and mental well‑being.
- Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other specialists to ensure seamless, comprehensive care.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate on complex cases as needed.
- Maintain precise medical records for prenatal visits, labor, and postnatal care.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, providing immediate care and coordinating with hospital teams when necessary.
- Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery, Nursing, or a related field, with certification in midwifery from an accredited program. - Licensure :
Valid state licensure to practice as a Nurse Midwife. - Experience :
Required prior experience in midwifery or maternal healthcare.
- Expertise in prenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal care, including managing obstetric emergencies.
- Strong communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams effectively.
- Compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care with a passion for empowering families.
- Quick decision‑making abilities in high‑pressure situations.
- Physical stamina to meet the demands of labor and delivery support.
- Cultural competence and respect for diverse childbirth practices.
