Our doctor to assistant ratio is one dedicatad LVT and one dedicated AVA (advanced veterinary assistant) assigned to each doctor! Surgeons have two LVTs and one AVA each day.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, or part-time, on-site Veterinarian role located in Southfield, MI. The Veterinarian will provide routine medical care for pets, including performing physical examinations, diagnosing medical conditions, and developing tailored treatment plans. Responsibilities include conducting surgeries, administering vaccinations, managing chronic conditions, and providing client education on pet care and preventative practices. We believe in having a collaborative work environement utilizing the knowledges and experience from our veterinarians and licensed technicians!
Qualifications- Strong skills in general veterinary medicine, internal medicine, and surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of nutrition counseling, wellness care, and preventative care best practices.
- Ability to perform diagnostic procedures, including radiology and laboratory analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate pet owners and work within a team.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to veterinary care, with an understanding of low-stress handling techniques.
- DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school and a valid veterinary license in the state of Michigan.
- Experience with feline-friendly practices and familiarity with AAHA accreditation standards are a plus.
