The Senior Development Scientist is responsible for completing assignments requiring independent thought, judgment, and initiative. The candidate should require a limited degree of supervision for routine work, with guidance on new assignments, and develop new techniques and procedures that lead to greater departmental efficiency. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Development Science and is part of the Lumigen Research and Development Department located in Southfield, MI and will be an on‑site role.
InThis Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Work as part of a diverse team of dedicated professionals.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address highly complex problems.
- Execute and document laboratory experiments to support product and process development.
- Analyze and communicate experimental results to a multifunctional, multisite project team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree in Chemistry with 3+ years of experience, or a Doctoral degree in Chemistry.
- Strong skills and experience in organic synthesis and general organic chemistry research techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret scientific experiments.
- Proven ability to self‑motivate and work efficiently to meet project timelines and departmental goals.
- Scientific instrumentation.
- Statistical software.
