Job Skills / Requirements

No prior experience is required. Military veterans and people with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply. Shift Opening(s): various days (Monday - Sunday) - 2nd and 3rd shifts. Rate of Pay: $17.60. This is NOT an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on the premises.

the Job

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.

  • Customer Service: be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Observe and Report: stay alert and look out for suspicious activities and incidents.
  • Security Presence: maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
  • Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas as required.
  • Access Control: ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
  • Safety Patrol: ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, enforcing policies and procedures of the site and reporting safety concerns.
  • Emergency Response: assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care, and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols.
  • Security Liaison: maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through on client requests, and keep the site supervisor/operations manager updated on all communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or alcohol related offenses.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. (70 lbs. for armed work).
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, Adult) or willing to become certified.
  • Must have clear vision at least 20 feet away and hearing in loud environments.
  • Must be able to use a smart phone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, professional integrity, and positive attitude.
  • Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Note:

Current employees on active disciplinary probation are not eligible. Employees previously removed from the contract or on disciplinary probation at separation are not considered.
