Family Resource Coordinator
The Family Resource Coordinator serves as a bridge between the school, students, and families, ensuring that students have the support, resources, and relationships necessary to thrive academically and socially. This role focuses on proactive engagement, character development, and removing barriers to student success.
Position reports to:
Executive Director of Academic Advisement and Social-Emotional Learning
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Sociology or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred
The position is grant funded with at least 2-year engagement expected.
Qualifications:
- 3 + years of experience working with diverse families, youth, or community-based organizations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage families from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrates experience with data collection, tracking, and reporting.
- Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible schedules, including evening or off-site visits.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple student cases simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outreach and home visits.
Position responsibilities:
- Student Support & Attendance:
- Monitor daily attendance data to identify at-risk students and implement intervention strategies.
- Conduct proactive outreach, including calls, texts, and virtual check-ins.
- Coordinate and conduct home visits to address barriers, meeting families in appropriate, non-school settings (e.g., libraries, homes, community cafes).
- Partner with families to collaboratively create and monitor attendance improvement plans.
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) & Climate:
- Serve as a member of the MTSS committee to support Tier 2 and Tier 3 student needs.
- Support school wide SEL initiatives aligned with CASEL competencies and reinforce Tier 1 SEL
- Facilitate restorative circles, conferences, and re-entry meetings following suspensions or absences.
- Collaborate with administration and staff to reduce exclusionary discipline and improve conflict resolution/relationship repair.
- Character Development & Mentoring:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the district character development framework.
