Job Description Summary
NOTE:
This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 50% of the total number of business days in a given month at one of the following offices:
St. Petersburg, FL (preference) Memphis, TN, Southfield, MI or Denver, CO. This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
As part of the Back Office development team, this Senior HP Non Stop Engineer will analyze business requirements and problems and deliver quality technical solutions. The team is responsible for application development, modification, maintenance, and support for the ACATS and Mass Account Transfers (MAT) back office. You will be actively working on BOM account transfers modernization, regulatory and industry mandated changes and existing back-office portfolio.
This individual will be involved in portions of the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements.
- Design and perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
- Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
- Make recommendations for the development of new code or to reuse of existing code.
- May lead assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
- May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities. Remains current with new technologies.
- Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
- Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
- Participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Provide technical advice and assist in solving programming problems.
- Write and/or review system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
- Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
- Ensure proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
- Convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
- Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.
- Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- More than five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in HP Non Stop COBOL
85, HPNS SQL/MX and SQL/MP. - Experience in Pathway servers and configuration.
- Experience working on HP Non Stop/Tandem Guardian OS application development.
- Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid software development methodologies.
- Experience with brokerage and clearing business/industry is nice to have.
- Experience with Middle Office and Back Office domains is a strong plus.
- Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., MQ) is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with IBM Mainframe will be considered.
- Experience working in remote and globally distributed business environments, employing a variety of in-person and remote collaboration tools, including email, phone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Azure-Dev Ops, etc.
- May occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities. On-call rotation (once every 8-9 weeks).
