TSP Ed Co is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students in a school setting in Southgate, MI
.
This is a great opportunity for a Special Education Teacher who enjoys building meaningful relationships with students, creating an inclusive learning environment, and helping children reach their academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional goals.
What You'll Do
As a Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with school staff, families, and related service providers to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities may include:
- Developing and implementing individualized instruction based on students' IEP goals
- Providing specialized academic and behavioral support to students
- Creating engaging, differentiated lessons that meet diverse learning needs
- Monitoring and documenting student progress toward individualized goals
- Implementing accommodations, modifications, and classroom support strategies
- Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student planning and goal development
- Supporting students' social-emotional, behavioral, communication, and functional development
- Maintaining accurate student records and documentation
- Maintaining student confidentiality and following all school and TSP Ed Co policies
Qualifications
- Active Special Education teaching credential/license appropriate for practice in Michigan
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- School-based and/or special education experience is a plus
- Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students succeed
- Ability to meet all applicable school, licensing, and employment requirements
