Adult Outpatient Mental Health Supervisor

Pay Range: $35.60–$48.17 per hour, based on licensing and experience

We are seeking an experienced Adult Outpatient Mental Health Supervisor to oversee the administrative and clinical operations of an adult behavioral health program.

The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring effective delivery of services to clients and the broader community served by the program. This role combines clinical leadership, staff support, program administration, crisis response, and collaboration with community partners.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience working with adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead effectively while maintaining a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and culturally responsive approach.

Provide oversight of the administrative and clinical functioning of the adult outpatient mental health program.

Ensure effective delivery of services to clients and community populations served by the program.

Provide clinical leadership, supervision, guidance, and support to program staff.

Support staff in providing individual, family, and group mental health and/or substance use treatment.

Provide after-hours coverage for crisis calls as needed to support program staff.

Assist with appropriately assessing and responding to crisis situations.

Promote effective collaboration among clients, staff, community organizations, and other service providers.

Maintain knowledge of community resources and assist staff in coordinating appropriate services.

Monitor program operations and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

Support accurate and timely tracking, reporting, and preparation of program data.

Promote culturally competent, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental services.

Maintain professional standards and ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

Participate in meetings, training, case consultations, and other organizational activities.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related qualifying field – Required.

Current Michigan professional license – Required. Acceptable licenses include:

LMSW

LLP

LPC

Professional licensure must remain active, current, in effect, and free from disciplinary action.

Minimum of 3 years of experience treating adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders – Required.

Demonstrated competence providing individual, family, and group mental health and/or substance use treatment.

Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to accurately track and prepare required data and documentation.

Ability to appropriately assess and respond to crisis situations.

Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to the diverse needs and experiences of clients and staff.

Nonjudgmental and compassionate approach to working with individuals and families.

Experience working in a community mental health setting.

Strong knowledge of community resources and referral networks.

Previous clinical supervisory or program leadership experience.

Experience working with culturally diverse populations.

The standard operating schedule is:

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–7:00 PM

Friday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
