Adult Outpatient Therapist - Adult Behavioral Health Program

Job Description

Leaderstat is seeking an Adult Outpatient Therapist to join its Adult Behavioral Health Program. This role provides clinical services to adults and families, including intake evaluations, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and coordination of care.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, collaborative behavioral health professional who is comfortable working independently while building strong therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and other providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct intake evaluations and provide direct clinical treatment to adults and families.
• Assess and document client needs related to outpatient mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse services using Person-Centered Planning principles.
• Provide individual and group therapy.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel, family service providers, and other members of the client's support system.
• Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and agency documentation.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, funding sources, agency policies, and applicable professional standards.
• Follow applicable professional codes of ethics.
• Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure.
• Complete required training related to the treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
• Maintain required state licensure and credentials.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the program and clients.

Schedule & Flexibility

Regular program hours include:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–7:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Flexible scheduling is available. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required based on program needs.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of a Master's degree in:
• • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Counseling
• Appropriate State of Michigan licensure.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience treating or working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness. Fieldwork or internship experience may count toward this requirement.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently track and prepare documentation and data.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, and scheduled instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
• Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other providers and team members.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to program needs.

Acceptable Licenses

Candidates must hold one of the following applicable Michigan credentials:

• LLMSW
• LLPC
• TLLP
• LMSW
• LPC
• LLP

Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential within 120 days of hire.

Mileage reimbursement: IRS standard rate, currently listed at $0.70 per mile.

Training: Required training is paid for by The Guidance Center.
