Production Foreman

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’sleading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags,is seekinga Production Foreman to add to our growing team!

The Production Foremanis responsible for supervising a specific department and/or shift andassistwith directly overseeing andparticipatingin all activities related to the effective operation of that department and/or shift.

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing a department and/or shift in such a manner as to ensure that production machinery uptime and production throughput is maximized – in quantity and quality.
• Responsible for supervising staff to include but not limitedto:designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
• Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure satisfactory performance and continually checking the quality of the finished product. Note any trouble source or issue and take the necessary corrective action(s).
• Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Be aware of how to track inventory levels of supplies. Order or make procurement recommendationsforany supplies, tools, replacementpartsorsimilar itemsneeded.
• Provide continuing oversight andtrainingofstafftoincrease their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Complete all other dutiesdeemednecessary by Managers.
• Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Three years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
• Five years or more of high-speed manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Must have high-speed manufacturing experience.
• Be mechanically inclinedwith experience using common hand tools and power tools.

AJM was originally founded as a distributor of commercial paper, plastic and foil packaging products and related cleaning, janitorial and order processingsuppliesand equipment by three (3) Detroit area brothersoperatingout of a small warehouse in Detroit’s Eastern Market. In1957they built and moved into slightly larger quarters on Detroit’s southwest side, where, for the very first time, they began manufacturing their own products.
