Freight Flow Associate

Position Summary

Sam's Club #6412, located at 15700 Northline Rd, Southgate, MI 48195‑2378, is seeking an Associate responsible for forklift operation, inventory management, customer service, and merchandising duties in line with company policies and safety standards.

• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards, implementing action plans under the Open Door Policy.
• Operate forklifts safely, following company standards while moving, picking, and placing merchandise pallets.
• Manage inventory flow by receiving and organizing stocks, maintaining accurate paperwork and logs.
• Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, and offering guidance on self‑service technology and purchasing decisions.
• Maintain facility safety through regular sweeps, correct handling of hazardous materials, and reporting unsafe situations.
• Present the sales floor according to merchandising guidelines, zoning, rotating and displaying merchandise, removing expired or damaged goods, and ensuring promotional displays.
• Assist in processing club pick‑up orders, staging merchandise, and performing occasional audits for order accuracy.
• Utilize inventory tools and equipment to track goods, maintain stock levels, control shrinkage, and report inventory issues.
• Support team collaboration, mentorship, and development while maintaining respect for individual differences.
• Operate and maintain forklifts in accordance with safety procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Identify and address shrink opportunities, product or service issues, and propose solutions for improvement.

• At least 90 days of experience operating forklifts and holding a valid Forklift Certification.
• Ability to safely use pallet jacks.
• Minimum age 18 years.
