Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Our client is a small, 40-person firm that is in the market for a Staff Accountant. We are seeking candidates with the following experience.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, be detail oriented and a strong problem solver capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent time management skills will set this candidate up for success. The team member will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and company standards, and providing excellent support to our clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication and Document Management
  • Communicate with clients to receive required documents for monthly/quarterly close.
  • Efficiently and accurately handle client documentation.
  • Ensure a response time of less than 24 hours to client inquiries, even if it's just to acknowledge receipt and inform them that the request is being processed.
  • Document clients' processes to ensure consistency and accuracy in their records.
Close Management
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded correctly in the supplier’s ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and enter missing transactions.
  • Review and adjust transactions, post necessary journal entries, and update loan and interest balances.
  • Create TVA schedules for loans or leases and make associated journal entries.
  • Enter fixed assets into Fixed Asset Manager and make associated journal entries.
Accounts Receivable Management
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all customers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions.
Accounts Payable and Cash Management
  • Enter, code and approve bills in the accounting system or BILL.
  • Run AP reports and attend meetings to discuss bill payments.
  • Review bank feed and input deposits, and update cash transactions.
  • Review leases for issues and ensure compliance with lease terms.
Payroll Processing
  • Process payroll and track payroll data.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and timely payment of employees.
Tax Preparation
  • Prepare and perform initial review of individual and business tax returns.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly income tax projections and year-end analysis.
  • Prepare and review property tax declaration.
  • Prepare and review Form 1099.
Team Collaboration and Continuous Learning
  • Participate in team training and continue learning new skills
  • Perform duties within expected time frames and communicate effectively
  • Work empathetically with team and clients, manage stress, and promote a healthy work environment
Key

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Understanding of GAAP Principals
  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar role a plus
  • An understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks Online and Desktop) and Microsoft Office Suite
