This position is responsible for managing an assigned group of commercial, industrial, and real estate loans in the Business Credit Center (BCC) portfolio. The director level role includes direct account ownership and oversight of members of the BCC portfolio management team, with tasks such as maintaining internal credit and collateral monitoring protocols, performing periodic credit file reviews, responding to customer inquiries, and managing end‑of‑term loan and line‑of‑credit maturities.

Significant customer contact (written, phone, and in‑person) is required, and the role partners with a team of Relationship Managers to cross‑sell new products and services to deliver an industry‑leading customer experience.

Key responsibilities for the role:
  • Maintain credit and collateral monitoring procedures for a portfolio of commercial loans within the Business Credit Center portfolio while maintaining compliance with bank policies. Responsible for detecting and escalating issues that may negatively affect portfolio quality.
  • Maintain detailed financial reporting ticklers to ensure timely receipt in compliance with loan documentation, with escalations to credit and line of business management as required.
  • Perform periodic reviews of customer credit profile and loan performance to include analysis of updated financial information, covenant compliance, and other documentation to support risk rating recommendations.
  • Responsible for minimizing portfolio delinquency by resolving loan payment discrepancies, which includes promptly addressing potential charge‑offs in collaboration with the Commercial Loan Workout Team.
  • Primary point of contact for customer inquiries, which may include routine account administration, inquiries about new bank products, or loan document modification.
  • Identify revenue generation and cross‑sell opportunities for existing customers and work closely with Relationship Management Sales team.
  • Manage loan modification and end‑of‑term maturities by obtaining updated credit information, preparing well documented recommendations, obtaining credit approval, and coordinating documentation requirements.
  • Provide direction, oversight, and training as necessary to a team of portfolio managers in their execution of the above tasks for their assigned portfolios. Expected to be a reliable point of contact for all reporting and account management activities within the assigned portfolio.
  • Responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the assigned portfolio team to include performance management, compliance training, facilitating personal growth objectives, and other activities to drive positive employee engagement.
Key skills/experience qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required – Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.
  • Minimum 7‑10 years of related banking experience – Commercial credit experience required, with completion of a formal credit training program preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, based on subject matter expertise coupled with the ability to gain trust and motivate performance.
  • Strong credit skills required with the ability to quickly identify key risks, develop and document mitigating support, and make credit recommendations.
  • Familiarity with commercial & industrial as well as investment real estate markets and transaction structures.
  • Must be service oriented and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable in customer contact situations, including identifying and addressing potential problem loan workout situations.
  • Ability to independently prioritize workload and execute problem resolution strategies with minimal management support.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize work to meet deadlines and work both independently and within a team structure.

The estimated salary range for this position is $145,000 USD to $155,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job‑related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
