2nd Shift Metal Finishing Operator (Passivation)

Shift: This position works a 2nd shift schedule of Monday-Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Training will be conducted on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM) for approximately 2-4 weeks. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to the regular 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM).
Essential responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Perform basic machining operations using assigned machine tools
- Set up and operate passivation, tumble, heat treat, and cleaning operations.
- Maintain tooling and equipment related to the PCH operations.
- Review and complete required daily documentation.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports as required.
- Maintain established quality standards.
- Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and established company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment.
- Operates equipment in a safe manner.
- Participate as a member of work teams.
- Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, cost and to continually improve these measures.
- Read, follow basic blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and/or procedures to accurately assemble products.
- Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Attends required training programs.
- Performs 5s activities.
- Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
- Ability to read, use various inspection equipment, precision tools, understand and apply basic inspection and sound measurement practices.
Education and/or
Experience:
HS Graduate of Equivalent i.e. GED At least 6 months' work experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques Basic mathematical aptitude required
