Warehouse Manager
Plantsville, CT - Service Master Apple Valley
Position OverviewOwns the warehouse function end-to-end. Manages inventory, procurement, equipment and fleet readiness, facility upkeep, safety, and sets the processes field techs follow in the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities Inventory & Procurement- Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals, tools, and equipment; monitor levels and anticipate restocking to avoid service disruptions.
- Order supplies and materials, consistently sourcing cost-effective options and managing vendor relationships.
- Stock company vehicles daily with the needed products, tools, and equipment for scheduled jobs.
- Oversee routine vehicle checks (fueling, inventory, maintenance, scheduling repairs) to keep the fleet safe and reliable.
- Track, maintain, and clean restoration equipment
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance and repairs in-house; schedule the rest routinely with outside vendors before things fail.
- Perform general upkeep of company property, warehouse, and inventory; keep it clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Continuously assess warehouse functionality (layout, workflow, storage) and adjust to improve efficiency.
- Create, set, and enforce the processes field techs follow for their part in warehouse upkeep and stocking.
- Enforce safe handling and storage of restoration chemicals (SDS on file, proper PPE, hazmat storage).
- Maintain OSHA-compliant conditions; keep extinguishers, eyewash, and safety equipment inspected and ready.
- Coordinate with field staff so crews have everything they need before dispatch
- Report to management on a set cadence: inventory levels, purchasing spend, equipment status/downtime, and vehicle maintenance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Resourcefulness: solves problems and improvises with what's on hand.
- Strong inventory and procurement skills.
- Strong communication and reporting ability.
- Basic mechanical/maintenance aptitude.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (operates company vehicles).
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, and work in a physically active environment.
- Available for after-hours/on-call emergency response.
