Beal Law Firm is seeking an energetic, personable, and highly organized Intake & Administrative Assistant to join our Southlake office.
We are an established Family Law Firm with more than 30 years of experience helping people through divorce, custody disputes, and other difficult family-law matters. Our office is fast-paced, professional, and client-focused.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, pays close attention to detail, and wants to gain meaningful experience in a professional law-office environment.
What You’ll DoA major part of this position involves new-client intake. You will often be one of the first people a potential client speaks with when contacting our firm.
Many of the people who call us are going through one of the most stressful periods of their lives. We therefore need someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and who can combine empathy and patience with professionalism, accuracy, and good judgment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Speaking with prospective clients by telephone and in person
- Gathering and accurately documenting information regarding potential new cases
- Scheduling consultations and following up with prospective clients
- Answering and routing telephone calls
- Greeting and assisting clients and visitors
- Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records
- Assisting attorneys and other staff with administrative projects
- Assisting with basic legal-assistant or paralegal-related work as trained
- Assisting with client communications and marketing projects
- Helping with other office responsibilities as needed
This is a varied position. We are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, learning new things, and helping wherever needed.

A background or interest in psychology, counseling, social work, communications, criminal justice, or another people-oriented field may be particularly helpful, but is not required.
Experience & EducationLegal experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Office, reception, customer-service, or other professional experience is helpful but not required.
A bachelor’s degree, college coursework, or similar educational background is a plus, but not required.
We are more interested in finding someone who is bright, dependable, personable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and eager to learn than someone who simply checks boxes on a resume.
ScheduleThe planned work schedule for this position is 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Applicants should be comfortable with and specifically interested in working a later-than-traditional office schedule.
The position will generally require approximately 40–45 hours per week, and some flexibility may occasionally be needed depending upon client and firm needs. This may include arriving somewhat earlier, staying somewhat later, or adjusting hours from time to time.
Compensation$14.00–$15.00 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.
