Bluebonnet Debate is hiring a part-time instructor to teach our middle school after-school speech and debate class this fall. This is a great opportunity for someone with a competitive debate background who enjoys working with younger students and wants flexible, structured part-time hours.
ScheduleTuesdays, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, September 1st through November 17th
LocationSouthlake, TX
Responsibilities- Lead weekly class sessions for students in grades 6 through 8
- Teach speech and debate fundamentals using curriculum provided by Bluebonnet Debate
- Run practice drills and rounds
- Give students feedback on speeches and arguments
- Manage classroom behavior
- Communicate with parents as needed
- High school diploma required
- Experience competing in competitive high school speech and debate
- Experience teaching or working with middle school age students
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Public Forum, World Schools, or Congress experience preferred
- TFA, NSDA, UIL, or TOC circuit experience preferred
Starting at $35/hour, depending on qualifications
