** Position Summary
** NGS is seeking an exceptionally capable and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to support management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and decision support. This is a developmental role designed for someone with strong intellectual horsepower, high standards, and significant upside potential—not necessarily someone who has already performed every aspect of the job.
The analyst will work with financial and operating data from across the company, help maintain the recurring reporting calendar, and learn how a public company translates operating activity into financial performance, capital allocation, Board reporting, and strategic decisions. Exceptional attention to detail is non-negotiable: the individual must consistently verify inputs, formulas, presentation, and conclusions before work is delivered.
** Responsibilities
* * 1.
** Recurring Reporting and Data Quality
** Prepare, update, and quality-check recurring labor, fleet, sales, district, fleet-financial, and consolidated reporting. Reconcile source data to accounting and operating systems, investigate inconsistencies, document adjustments, and ensure reports are complete and accurate before review.
2.
** Financial Model Maintenance
** Update the integrated NGS financial model and supporting schedules using actual results, operating assumptions, capital expenditures, fleet activity, and forecast inputs. Learn to connect the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement and identify when results do not behave as expected.
3.
** Variance and Performance Analysis
** Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify key drivers; and draft clear variance commentary. Support district, fleet, customer, pricing, labor, maintenance, SG&A, working-capital, and capital-spending analyses.
4.
** Budgeting and Forecasting Support
** Collect and validate inputs from functional and operating leaders, maintain templates, consolidate submissions, track changes, and support the annual corporate and district budgets, rolling forecasts, and capital-expenditure outlook.
5.
** Executive and Board Materials
** Prepare charts, tables, and supporting analyses for monthly management reporting and quarterly Board and Audit Committee presentations. Apply disciplined formatting and quality-control standards so materials are accurate, consistent, and executive-ready.
6.
** Decision Support and Special Projects
** Support new-unit economics, customer and contract analysis, fleet deployment decisions, pricing analysis, liquidity scenarios, M&A modeling, and other requests from the CFO, FP&A leader, and business partners.
7.
** Process Improvement and Documentation
