Schwab is recruiting an outcome driven, results-oriented, well organized data technology lead who shares our passion for technology, innovation, people, and excellence. We are in the midst of re-architecting and rebuilding our core enterprise data platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business.

The technical engineering lead will be a hands-on lead engineer with technical/business acumen and lead experience that excels in a structured, dynamic, fast-moving environment and is passionate about developing high quality, high performance, and scalable solutions. The candidate will lead and work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the system health and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software releases.

This position will be part of the Operational Data Exchange (ODX) Technology team within the Schwab Data organization focusing on providing Operational Intelligence and Insights, and position Schwab to remain a Data Driven organization using a world class Data Exchange (DX) platform. The DX support various critical business functions and business units - Schwab Technology Services (STS), Audit, Corporate Tax, Risk, Compliance, etc.

This is a role for someone who is passionate and excited to learn/understand corporate systems, focus on basics and streamline existing system to make it stable, and build a future state data platform that is going to be pivotal to drive client-centricity, reducing time to market, scale & increasing efficiency. In this role you will:

* Provide technical and project leadership to data pipeline development.

* Understand the needs of the business and using this knowledge to align on a solution and drive delivery

* Drive Agile development supporting organization priorities and innovation.

* Collaborate with analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

* Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

* Develop robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from diverse sources into our data ecosystem.

* Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency

* Mentoring junior team members to ensure team and project success.

* Implement data security controls and access management policies to protect sensitive information.

* Drive outcomes and team performance and collaborate with all to achieve results.

* Work closely with development, product owner and team members to decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks.

* Effectively navigate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment between teams and within one team.

* Cultivate a culture of open feedback that promotes accountability for getting better together.

* Collaborate with other shared functions to support application support and automation for deployments.

* Interface with product owner and key stakeholders in Project Management, Business, Development, QA and Technology Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time.

* Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans.

* Create and maintain artifacts for production support and deployment processes and ensure smooth hand off to support teams.

* Meet periodically with onshore and offshore developers and application support to review and improve processes.

* Demonstrated ability to disagree, debate your case with data, and commit to deliver regardless of the outcome.

What you have

Required

* Expertise in ETL development, Data Quality, Best Practices, Exception Handling

* SQL, Google Cloud Products including Big Query, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, SQL Server Integration Services

* Expertise in Informatica (IDMC/IICS) and Python coding skills

* Used AI in development lifecycle to gain efficiency

* Business Analysis experience to perform data analysis to translate business requirements to data mapping

* Exceptional track record in delivering results and business outcomes

* Experience in maturing teams at different levels

* Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar/equivalent area of study

* Minimum of 3 years working in the financial services…
