Position Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join our healthcare IT Security Team. This role will support the protection of sensitive patient data, clinical systems, and healthcare infrastructure from cyber threats. The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge in cybersecurity principles and a strong interest in safeguarding healthcare environments in compliance with regulatory standards.

- Monitor EDR security systems, alerts, and logs to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities
- Assist in responding to cybersecurity incidents
- Help maintain and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support compliance efforts related to healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Support regulatory compliance efforts, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOX, PCI‑DSS, as applicable)
- Collaborate with IT and clinical staff to ensure secure system configurations
- Participate in security awareness initiatives and training programs
- Partner with IT, engineering, legal, and business teams to ensure security controls are implemented effectively
- Support internal and external audits, including evidence gathering and remediation tracking
- Provide security awareness and guidance to stakeholders across the organization
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, STEM or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical/scientific discipline or equivalent experience
Professional
Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
- Cisco Certified Cyber Ops Associate
- Microsoft SC‑900:
Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
Experience:
- 1–3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or compliance roles
- 5+ years IT related work; preferred 3+ years in security
- Enterprise level Network/System Administration or Engineering experience
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles
- Knowledge of common cyber threats (phishing, malware, ransomware, etc.)
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, or endpoint protection solutions
- Familiarity with one or more frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, COBIT, CIS Controls
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally
- Proficient level of knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networks, and network security technologies (IPS, firewalls, etc.)
- Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST
- Relevant security certifications such as GCIH, CEH, Security+, CCNA Security, CCSP, or equivalent certification required. Non‑specific vendor cloud certifications are a plus.
Essential

- Internship or hands‑on lab experience in cybersecurity or IT support
- Familiarity with healthcare IT environments or electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001)

- Experience in developing and deploying security specific solutions including the automation of repeatable security tasks and controls
- Experience with security vulnerability and penetration tools, remediation, and processes
