We’re Hiring:
Construction Technology Analyst

GMi is looking for someone who already understands construction – the workflows, the pressure, the vocabulary – and is ready to move into a seat where that knowledge gets applied to technology. This is not an IT help desk role. It is an analytical and implementation role for someone who has lived in the field or front office and wants to be the person who makes the tools work better for everyone else.

This role sits alongside the Construction Technology Manager, who owns back‑office systems and data infrastructure. The Construction Technology Analyst owns the other half: the platforms field teams and project staff use every day. You will be the primary point of contact for GMi Central, field collaboration tools, and emerging technology initiatives that touch operations. If a tool is broken, confusing, or missing, you will be the one who fixes it, explains it, or builds the case to replace it.

What

You’ll Do Construction Technology Support and Administration
  • Serve as the primary administrator and internal expert for GMi's field-facing platforms, including GMi Central and related project operations tools.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, manage user access and configurations, and elevate database-level problems to the Construction Technology Manager when needed.
  • Document platform behavior, known issues, and workarounds so that knowledge does not live in one person's head.
Training and User Adoption
  • Onboard field employees, project managers, and office staff to technology tools – including new hires and employees transitioning to updated platforms.
  • Create plain-language reference materials, quick guides, and training sessions calibrated to how field crews actually work.
  • Identify and close adoption gaps: when people are not using a tool, find out why.
Innovation and Technology Evaluation
  • Support the evaluation of new construction technology – from pilot setup through feedback collection and recommendation.
  • Gather requirements from field and front‑office users and translate them into clear problem statements that inform sourcing or development decisions.
  • Work with the Chief Innovation Officer and Construction Technology Manager on technology initiatives that cut across field, office, and systems.
Process and Data Integrity
  • Maintain accurate user data, project configurations, and system records across field platforms.
  • Identify process breakdowns where technology and workflow are misaligned and propose practical fixes.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Technology Manager when field data needs to flow into back‑office systems or reporting.
What We’re Looking For Required
  • Meaningful exposure to construction field operations, project management, or estimating – whether through direct work experience, internship, formal education such as a degree in Construction Management/Construction Science, or a hands‑on support role.
  • Comfort learning and administering software systems, even without formal IT training.
  • Strong communication skills across audiences: field crews, project managers, and internal technology staff.
  • Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Organized and self‑directed – able to manage multiple open issues and prioritize without close supervision.
  • Willingness to travel between GMi offices and job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with construction software platforms (Procore, Vista, Bluebeam, or similar) in any capacity – even as a power user or super‑user in a previous role.
  • Basic SQL or data skills or demonstrated interest in developing them.
  • Experience documenting processes, writing SOPs, or creating training materials.
  • A track record of being the person colleagues come to when something is not working.
