Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Job Summary

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) required for a 13‑week PACU (Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit) assignment in Southlake, Texas. 36 hours per week on 12‑hour days, starting 06/29/2026.

• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferred from the operating room.
• Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and recovery progress after anesthesia.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved PACU nursing techniques.
• Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs during recovery.
• Observe and document patient conditions, treatments, and significant incidents; respond promptly to adverse changes or reactions.
• Respond to emergency situations using PACU nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and recovery progress in the medical records.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive post‑operative care.
• Participate in patient handoff communications to ensure continuity of care between OR, PACU, and post‑PACU units.
• Operate and monitor PACU‑specific equipment, such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.

• One year of recent experience as a PACU RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification) certifications.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
