Job Overview

STAFF NURSE - 0635, reports to Nurse Manager. 12‑hour shifts, 3 days a week (12X3).

Work hours:

7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Category B:
Employee with Patient Care Impact, FLSA:
Non‑Exempt. Inclement Weather Status:
Required to report to work.

Provide professional, technical nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver age‑ and developmentally‑appropriate care and support the mission, vision and values of Methodist Health System.

• Utilize the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice RN in Texas.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of a nurse residency program.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and nursing care standards.

• Standing/Moving about: 60%;

• Hearing:
  Normal noise level 100% of the time.
• Hazardous conditions:
  Respiratory irritants 5%, skin irritants 50%, allergic irritants 50%, wet work – hands 50%, electrical equipment 50–75%, blood and body fluids 80%.
• Carrying loads up to 50 lbs, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Vision essential.
• Work environment: indoors 100% of the time.
